Eddie runs AI models locally on your Apple device. If something is not working, the checks below solve the most common setup and storage issues.

Getting Started

Eddie needs at least one compatible AI model before it can answer. Choose the recommended model shown in the app or select another compatible model, review its download size, and keep Eddie open until the download is complete. After the model is stored on your device, supported chat and translation features can work without cloud inference.

Downloads and Storage

A model download can be paused, resumed, repaired, or removed from Eddie's Storage screen. Make sure the device has enough free space and a stable internet connection. Removing a model only deletes its local files; you can download it again later.

Slow Responses or Memory Warnings

Local generation speed depends on the device, selected model, prompt length, image input, temperature, and thermal state. Try a smaller compatible model, shorten the current chat, close memory-intensive apps, turn off Low Power Mode, or let the device cool before trying again.

Offline Use

AI generation runs locally after the required model is downloaded. An internet connection is still required to download or verify model files and to import a webpage. Photos, documents, and notes you add directly can be processed on device.

Deleting Local Data

Settings provides controls for deleting model downloads, chat history, and knowledge bases. Individual chats, prompts, profiles, and sources can also be removed from their respective screens. Deleting Eddie removes its local app container subject to Apple's device and backup behavior.

Privacy
